A recycler gets its name from the drain tube. On a conventional bong the water rises a little higher up the neck with every second of the draw, so the pull gets wetter and heavier as you go. Here the curved drain takes that water back down to the lower chamber and the cycle restarts, which is why the draw stays consistent from the first second of the hit to the last.

The blue is coloured glass, not paint or a wrap: the mouthpiece rim, the perc assembly, the internal downstem and the underside of the foot are all blue through the glass. It will not peel, and it will not fade with normal washing.

What Two-Stage Filtration Actually Does

The path is worth knowing before you buy, because it explains what you are paying for. Smoke leaves the bowl, travels down the internal downstem and discharges low in the water chamber. It bubbles up through the water, passes into the perc chamber above, gets split through the perc, and only then travels up the neck to the mouthpiece.

Two chambers means two passes. The water strips ash and some heat; the perc breaks the smoke into smaller bubbles so more of its surface meets water on the way through. Neither stage makes a hit stronger, and neither one replaces cleaning — two chambers also means two places resin collects. That is the honest trade: more filtration, more maintenance.

How to Use

1. Start with the lower chamber only. Fill it so the outlet of the internal downstem sits just below the surface.
2. Test the draw before you load anything. Recyclers are sensitive to water level — a few millimetres either way changes how the cycle behaves, so add or pour off a little until the pull feels steady rather than gurgling.
3. Load the 14mm bowl, seat it in the joint, and draw while lighting. Keep the draw even; the whole point of the drain is that the second half of the hit feels like the first.
4. Tip the water out after each session. Two chambers means more places for standing water to sit and go stale.

How to Clean

1. Empty the water and rinse both chambers with warm water first.
2. Pour in 1/2 cup isopropyl alcohol (91%+) plus 2 tbsp coarse salt.
3. Plug the mouthpiece and the joint, shake for 60 seconds, then let it stand. Give it longer than you would a single-chamber bong — the perc and the drain tube are the two places resin settles out of reach.
4. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Not boiling, and not straight after the piece has been sitting in the sun: a sudden extreme temperature swing is the one thing that is genuinely hard on glass, even borosilicate.
