17.3" Matrix Perc Bong with Ice Catcher - 18mm Bowl
-
Detail
Product Overview
TL;DR: A 17.3-inch (44 cm) straight tube built as a tower — four perforated discs stacked in the lower half, an ice catcher above them, and an 18mm bowl on a side joint. About 980 g of glass, so it does not wander across the table.
Most straight tubes give you one perc and a long empty neck. This one fills the lower half: four matrix discs sitting one above the other, each drilled with a grid of small holes. Smoke climbing the tube has to pass all four, which is why the pull feels thick and slow rather than sharp. Above them sit three conical ice pinches, so you can load ice and cool the smoke on the way out.
It comes in two finishes: clear, or clear with cobalt blue accents on the mouthpiece rim, the discs and the foot. Pick the colour above before you add it to the cart — the glass is coloured through, not painted or coated.
What the Four Discs Do
Each disc is a flat plate of glass perforated in a grid, sealed to the wall of the tube. Smoke passes through one disc, crosses a short chamber, then hits the next. Four stages means four rounds of breaking large bubbles into small ones, which is the whole reason a stacked design feels smoother than a single perc of the same diameter.
The cost is drag. Four discs add up to a lot of small openings, so this is not a piece for someone who wants a fast, airy hit — it is for someone who wants the smoke worked over. Keep the water level at the discs and not above them; overfilling is the fastest way to make a tower feel like a straw.
Ice Catcher Above the Stack
Three conical pinches sit in the neck above the top disc, spaced so ice cubes rest on them instead of dropping into the perc stack. Smoke passes between the pinches and around the ice on its way to the mouthpiece.
Icing a piece like this does two things: it cools the smoke further, and it keeps the ice out of the water where it would melt and slowly overfill the chambers. Skip crushed ice — small shards fall through the gaps.
18mm Joint and Side Intake
The bowl mounts on an angled 18mm female joint carried by a separate tube on the side, not on the main column. That side tube runs down into the base, so the bowl sits lower and further from your face than on a standard straight tube — a small thing that matters at 44 cm.
The joint is an 18mm (18.8mm measured), which is the larger of the two common sizes. If most of your bowls are 14mm, you will need a reducer or a new bowl; our 14mm vs 18mm guide shows how to measure the one you have.

How to Use It
- Fill through the mouthpiece until the water sits at the top disc. Do not cover the discs.
- Add ice to the neck if you want it — three or four cubes, not crushed.
- Load the 18mm bowl, seat it in the side joint, and pull slowly. A tower this tall rewards a long, even draw.
- Clear the tube before the smoke goes stale; 44 cm of neck holds a lot of it.
How to Clean It
A stack of four discs is the hardest part of this piece to keep clean, because a brush cannot get between the plates. Use isopropyl alcohol with coarse salt, seal both ends, and shake so the salt is carried through each grid. Let it sit ten minutes if the discs look cloudy, then rinse with warm water and dry upside down.
Change the water every session. Standing water in four chambers is what makes a tower smell, and the middle chambers are the ones you cannot see into easily.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 17.3 inches too tall for a table?
It is a table piece rather than a lap piece. At 44 cm it sits comfortably on a desk with the mouthpiece at chest height for most adults, and the 980 g base keeps it steady.Does it have an ice catcher?
Yes. Three conical pinches sit above the perc stack, sized for standard cubes. Crushed ice will fall through. What size bowl does it take?
18mm male bowls. One is included. If your existing bowls are 14mm you will need a reducer. How many percs does it have?
Four discs, stacked in the lower half of the tube. They are fixed — there is no removable downstem in the main column. Is it hard to pull?
Harder than a single-perc straight tube. Four perforated discs add resistance by design. If you want an easy draw, a single-perc piece will suit you better. Will it tip over?
The foot is a wide flat disc and the whole piece weighs about 980 g, so it is stable on a level surface. It is still glass — keep it away from the edge of a table. Can I put it in the dishwasher?
No. Hand wash only, with alcohol and salt. Dishwasher heat and movement will crack thin glass joints.Does it come apart for cleaning?
The bowl comes out. The discs are sealed into the tube, so cleaning is done by shaking solvent through them rather than disassembly.Do you sell wholesale?
Yes — see the wholesale page for tiered pricing and case quantities. This product is intended for adults 21 and over and for use with legal herbal blends and tobacco only. Keep out of reach of children.
